And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they might give them

﴿وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لِّيَكُونُواْ لَهُمۡ عِزّٗا ﴾
[مَريَم: 81]

And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they might give them honor, power and glory

﴿واتخذوا من دون الله آلهة ليكونوا لهم عزا﴾ [مَريَم: 81]
