﴿لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 15]
﴿لقالوا إنما سكرت أبصارنا بل نحن قوم مسحورون﴾ [الحِجر: 15]
Abdel Haleem they would still say, ‘Our eyes are hallucinating. We are bewitched.’ |
Abdul Hye surely they would have said: “Our eyes have been blocked (blurred). But nay, we have been bewitched.” |
Abdullah Yusuf Ali They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery |
Abdul Majid Daryabadi They would surely say: intoxicated have been our sights; aye! we are a people enchanted |
Ahmed Ali They will say all the same: "Our eyes were dazed (and clouded over). We were a people ensorcelled |
Aisha Bewley they would only say, ´Our eyesight is befuddled! Or rather we have been put under a spell!´ |
