They have taken other gods instead of Allah that they may be - Surah Maryam ayat 81 in English

﴿وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةٗ لِّيَكُونُواْ لَهُمۡ عِزّٗا ﴾
[مَريَم: 81]

They have taken other gods instead of Allah that they may be a source of strength for them

﴿واتخذوا من دون الله آلهة ليكونوا لهم عزا﴾ [مَريَم: 81]
