﴿قَالُواْ تَٱللَّهِ تَفۡتَؤُاْ تَذۡكُرُ يُوسُفَ حَتَّىٰ تَكُونَ حَرَضًا أَوۡ تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَٰلِكِينَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 85]
﴿قالوا تالله تفتأ تذكر يوسف حتى تكون حرضا أو تكون من الهالكين﴾ [يُوسُف: 85]
| Dr Kamal Omar They said: “By Allah! You take decision that you will go on remembering Yusuf until you become exhausted or you be out of those who perish (in grief).” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar They said: By God! Thou wilt never discontinue remembering Joseph until thou hast ruined thy health. Thou wouldst be among the ones who are perishing |
| Dr Munir Munshey They said, "By Allah, you would never quit talking about Yusuf, until you either die or melt away |
| Edward Henry Palmer They said, 'By God! thou wilt not cease to remember Joseph till thou art at the point of death, or art of those who perish |
| Farook Malik They said: "By Allah! It appears that you will not cease to remember Joseph until you ruin your health or kill yourself |
| George Sale His sons said, by God, thou wilt not cease to remember Joseph, until thou be brought to death's door, or thou be actually destroyed by excessive affliction |
| Maududi The sons said: "By Allah! You will continue to remember Joseph until you will either consume yourself with grief, or will die |
