﴿۞ مَّثَلُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي وُعِدَ ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَۖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ أُكُلُهَا دَآئِمٞ وَظِلُّهَاۚ تِلۡكَ عُقۡبَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْۚ وَّعُقۡبَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٱلنَّارُ ﴾
[الرَّعد: 35]
﴿مثل الجنة التي وعد المتقون تجري من تحتها الأنهار أكلها دائم وظلها﴾ [الرَّعد: 35]
Dr Kamal Omar The description of the Paradise which the muttaqûn have been promised: flow underneath it rivers, its fruit is everlasting as well as its shade. This is the final end (or final destination) of those who remained obedient; and the final end of the disbelievers is Fire |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar A parable of the Garden which was promised to the ones who are Godfearing; beneath it rivers run. Its produce is one that continues as is its shade. That is the Ultimate End of those who were Godfearing; and the Ultimate End of the ones who are ungrateful is the fire |

George Sale This is the description of paradise, which is promised to the pious. It is watered by rivers; its food is perpetual, and its shade also: This shall be the reward of those who fear God. But the reward of the infidels shall be hell fire |
Maududi And such will be the Paradise promised to the God-fearing: rivers will flow beneath it, its fruits will be eternal, and so will be its blissful shade. That is the ultimate destiny of the God-fearing while Fire is the destiny of the unbelievers |
