﴿وَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ لِيَوۡمٖ تَشۡخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ ﴾
[إبراهِيم: 42]
﴿ولا تحسبن الله غافلا عما يعمل الظالمون إنما يؤخرهم ليوم تشخص فيه﴾ [إبراهِيم: 42]
Dr Kamal Omar Consider not that Allah is unaware of that what the transgressors do. Surely it is that He gives them respite upto a Day wherein the eyes will stare in horror |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And assume not that God is One Who is Heedless of what the ones who are unjust do. He only postpones their reckoning to a Day when their sight will be fixed in horror |
Dr Munir Munshey Do not even pause to consider that Allah could be unmindful of what the evil ones are doing. He only postpones their fate till the day when their eyes will be glazed and fixed |
Edward Henry Palmer So think not God careless of what the unjust do; He only respites them until the day on which all eyes shall stare |
Farook Malik Never think that Allah is unaware of what these unjust people are doing. He is only deferring their case to that Day when their eyes will be fixedly open |
George Sale Think not, O prophet, that God is regardless of what the ungodly do. He only deferreth their punishment unto the day whereon mens eyes shall be fixed |
Maududi Do not think Allah is heedless of the evil deeds in which the evil-doers are engaged. He is merely granting them respite until a Day when their eyes shall continue to stare in horror |
