﴿لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 15]
﴿لقالوا إنما سكرت أبصارنا بل نحن قوم مسحورون﴾ [الحِجر: 15]
| Dr Kamal Omar they would have surely said: “Our eyes have been dazzled. Nay, we are a people under effect of magic.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar they would say: Truly, our sight was dazzled. Nay! We were a bewitched folk |
| Dr Munir Munshey They would say, "Our sights fail us, we are drugged. Rather, we are a nation bewitched |
| Edward Henry Palmer then also had they said, 'Our eye-sight is only intoxicated; nay, we are an enchanted people |
| Farook Malik still they would have said, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; rather we have been bewitched |
| George Sale they would surely say, our eyes are only dazzled; or rather we are a people deluded by enchantments |
| Maududi they would still have said: "Surely our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been enchanted |
