﴿وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَن يُقۡتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمۡوَٰتُۢۚ بَلۡ أَحۡيَآءٞ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشۡعُرُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 154]
﴿ولا تقولوا لمن يقتل في سبيل الله أموات بل أحياء ولكن لا﴾ [البَقَرَة: 154]
| Dr Kamal Omar And say not to that who is killed in the Cause of Allah: “(they are) dead ones.” Nay! They are living; although you do not perceive |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And say not about those who are slain in the way of God: They are lifeless. Nay! They are living, except you are not aware |
| Dr Munir Munshey Do not say, "They are dead!" about those slain in the path of Allah. In fact, they are alive! You just cannot (in this life) perceive (that life) |
| Edward Henry Palmer And say not of those who are slain in God's way (that they are) dead, but rather living; but ye do not perceive |
| Farook Malik Do not say about those who are slain in the cause of Allah (martyrs), that they are dead. Nay, they are alive, but you do not perceive it |
| George Sale And say not of those who are slain in fight for the religion of God, that they are dead; yea, they are living: But ye do not understand |
| Maududi And do not say of those who are slain in the way of Allah, "they are dead." In fact, they are alive but you do not perceive that life |
