﴿فَمَنۡ خَافَ مِن مُّوصٖ جَنَفًا أَوۡ إِثۡمٗا فَأَصۡلَحَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 182]
﴿فمن خاف من موص جنفا أو إثما فأصلح بينهم فلا إثم عليه﴾ [البَقَرَة: 182]
Dr Kamal Omar But who feared partiality or sin on one who is mahead of state the bequest, and made desirable understandings among the recipient parties, there is no blame on him. Certainly Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Continuously Merciful |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Then, whoever feared from one who makes a testament, a swerving from the right path or sin, and, then, made things right between them, there is no sin on him. Truly, God is Forgiving, Compassionate |
Dr Munir Munshey But the one who, fearing that the testator had sinned and veered off (the just course), corrects and adjusts the will, incurs no sin. Allah is the most Forgiving, the most Merciful |

George Sale Howbeit he who apprehendeth from the testator any mistake or injustice, and shall compose the matter between them, that shall be no crime in him, for God is gracious and merciful |
Maududi If, however. one apprehends genuinely that the testator had intentionally or unintentionally done some injustice, and then alters the will to set things right between the parties concerned, in that case he does not incur any sin. Allah is Forgiving and Merciful |
