﴿قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُاْ بِكُمۡ رَبِّي لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡۖ فَقَدۡ كَذَّبۡتُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامَۢا ﴾
[الفُرقَان: 77]
﴿قل ما يعبأ بكم ربي لولا دعاؤكم فقد كذبتم فسوف يكون لزاما﴾ [الفُرقَان: 77]
Dr Kamal Omar Say: “What my Nourisher-Sustainer may care for you, if there is no invokation from you?" In such a case you have surely denied (His Majesty, Mercy and Grace). So (very) soon will appear the natural result (in the form of everlasting punishment). [If a person has Belief in Allah and His Capacities and His Attributes, he must invoke Him specially in periods of crisis and states of trouble — if he does not, he denies his own Belief in Him] |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Say: My Lord would not concern Himself with you if it had not been for your supplication, for, surely, you denied so it will be close at hand |
Dr Munir Munshey Say (to the unbelievers), "Unless you call my Lord and pray to Him, He would care nothing about you at all. But now, since you have rejected Him the torment will be yours forever |
Edward Henry Palmer Say, 'My Lord cares not for you though you should not call (on Him); and ye have called (the Apostle) a liar, but it shall be (a punishment) which ye cannot shake off |
Farook Malik O Muhammad! Say: "My Lord does not care at all if you invoke Him or not. Now that you have rejected His revelations, soon you will face the inevitable punishment |
George Sale Say, my Lord is not solicitous on your account, if ye do not invoke Him: Ye have already charged his apostle with imposture; but hereafter shall there be a lasting punishment inflicted on you |
Maududi O Muhammad, tell the people, "MyLord does not care at all if you do not invoke Him. Now that you have denied (His Revelation), you will soon be awarded such a punishment which you will never be able to avoid |
