﴿وَلَا تُصَعِّرۡ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مَرَحًاۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٖ فَخُورٖ ﴾
[لُقمَان: 18]
﴿ولا تصعر خدك للناس ولا تمش في الأرض مرحا إن الله لا﴾ [لُقمَان: 18]
| Dr Kamal Omar And do not puff up your cheek for men, and do not move in the earth insolently. Certainly, Allah does not like any self-centred, boasting person |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And turn not thy cheek away from humanity nor walk through the earth exultantly. Truly, God loves not any proud boaster |
| Dr Munir Munshey Do not talk to people contemptuously, nor walk insolently on the earth. Surely, Allah does not like a haughty braggart |
