﴿۞ قَدۡ يَعۡلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلۡقَآئِلِينَ لِإِخۡوَٰنِهِمۡ هَلُمَّ إِلَيۡنَاۖ وَلَا يَأۡتُونَ ٱلۡبَأۡسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ﴾
[الأحزَاب: 18]
﴿قد يعلم الله المعوقين منكم والقائلين لإخوانهم هلم إلينا ولا يأتون البأس﴾ [الأحزَاب: 18]
Dr Kamal Omar Definitely, Allah knows those among you who obstruct (men from fighting on the side of the Muslims), and (also) those who say to their fellow men:'come here to us' (and stay away from armed encounter), and they themselves do not enter the war except very little |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Surely, God knows the ones of you who hold off and the ones who converse with their brothers saying to us: Come on! And they approach not the battle themselves but a little |
Dr Munir Munshey Allah surely knows those of you who stay aloof from the prevailing struggle, and say to their brothers, "(do not fight)! Come over to us, let us go!" They hardly participate in the battle themselves |

Farook Malik Allah is well aware of those among you who hold others back and those who say to their brethren: "Join us," and seldom take part in the fighting themselves |
George Sale God already knoweth those among you who hinder others from following his apostle, and who say unto their brethren, come hither unto us; and who come not to battle, except a little |
Maududi Allah knows well those of you who create obstructions (in war efforts) and say to their brethren: "Come and join us." They hardly take any part in battle |
