﴿قَالَ يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسۡجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقۡتُ بِيَدَيَّۖ أَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ أَمۡ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَالِينَ ﴾
[صٓ: 75]
﴿قال ياإبليس ما منعك أن تسجد لما خلقت بيدي أستكبرت أم كنت﴾ [صٓ: 75]
| Dr Kamal Omar (Allah) said: “O Iblis! What prevented you that you may prostrate for what I created with My two Hands? Have you gone arrogant or are you out of those who are high and exalted?” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He said: O Iblis! What prevented thee from prostrating thyself to what I created with My two hands? Hadst thou grown arrogant? Or hadst thou been among the ones who exalt themselves |
| Dr Munir Munshey (Allah) said, "Oh Iblees, what kept you from falling prostrate before a being I created with My hands? Are you too proud (to bow)? Or are you one of the high and the exalted |
| Edward Henry Palmer Said He, 'O Iblis! what prevents thee from adoring what I have created with my two hands? art thou too big with pride? or art thou amongst the exalted |
| Farook Malik Allah said: "O Iblees! What prevented you from prostrating yourself to the one whom I have created with My own hands? Are you too arrogant, or do you think that you are one of the exalted ones |
| George Sale God said unto him, O Eblis, what hindreth thee from worshipping that which I have created with my hands? Art thou elated with vain pride? Or art thou really one of exalted merit |
| Maududi The Lord said: "O Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself before him whom I created of My Two Hands. Are you waxing proud, or fancy yourself to be too exalted |
