﴿وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَدۡعُونَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَظَنُّواْ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٖ ﴾
[فُصِّلَت: 48]
﴿وضل عنهم ما كانوا يدعون من قبل وظنوا ما لهم من محيص﴾ [فُصِّلَت: 48]
Dr Kamal Omar And vanished from them whom they used to invoke in (times) before. And they have realised (that there is) not for them (any) out of a place of refuge |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Gone astray from them is what they had been calling to before. They would think that there is for them no asylum |
Dr Munir Munshey All the (gods) they used to invoke and pray to would get away from them (and vanish); and they would get the idea that there exists no refuge (on that day) |
Edward Henry Palmer they shall say, 'We do own to thee there is no witness amongst us!' and that on which they used to call before shall stray away from them, and they shall think there is no escape for them |

George Sale And the idols which they called on before, shall withdraw themselves from them; and they shall perceive that there will be no way to escape |
Maududi Then all those deities whom they once used to call upon shall vanish and they will come to know for sure that there is no escape for them |
