﴿فَٱسۡتَخَفَّ قَوۡمَهُۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا فَٰسِقِينَ ﴾
[الزُّخرُف: 54]

Thus did –Pharaoh- befool his people who soon obeyed him. They were a mischievous people disposed to practice evil
