﴿وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ ٱئۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴾
[الجاثِية: 25]
﴿وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا بينات ما كان حجتهم إلا أن قالوا ائتوا﴾ [الجاثِية: 25]
| Dr Kamal Omar And when are produced unto them Ayaatuna Bayyinatin (‘Our Manifestly Clear Verses’) — their argument is not except that they said: “Approach (us) with our (dead) fore-fathers, if you are those who speak the truth.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And when are recounted to them Our signs, clear portents, then, disputation had not been but that they said: Bring our fathers if you had been ones who are sincere |
| Dr Munir Munshey When Our clear unambiguous verses are read to them, they are left with no answer. By way of rebuttal they merely retort, "Bring our forefathers back to life, if you are right |
