﴿وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا شَيۡـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًاۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ ﴾
[الجاثِية: 9]
﴿وإذا علم من آياتنا شيئا اتخذها هزوا أولئك لهم عذاب مهين﴾ [الجاثِية: 9]
| Dr Kamal Omar And when he came to know something of Our Verses, he took it as a jest. Those people, for them (is a) humiliating torment |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And if he knew anything about Our signs, he took them to himself in mockery. Those, for them is a despised punishment |
| Dr Munir Munshey He mocks whatever little he learns about Our verses. A humiliating punishment exists for such a one |
| Edward Henry Palmer and when he knows something of our signs takes them for a jest! These,- for them is shameful woe |
| Farook Malik And when something of Our revelations come to his knowledge, he takes them as a joke; for all such people there will be a humiliating punishment |
| George Sale And who, when he cometh to the knowledge of any of our signs, receiveth the same with scorn. For these is prepared a shameful punishment |
| Maududi Whenever he comes to know anything of Our Signs, he makes them an object of jest. For such there awaits a humiliating chastisement |
