﴿۞ وَٱذۡكُرۡ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذۡ أَنذَرَ قَوۡمَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦٓ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ ﴾
[الأحقَاف: 21]
﴿واذكر أخا عاد إذ أنذر قومه بالأحقاف وقد خلت النذر من بين﴾ [الأحقَاف: 21]
Dr Kamal Omar And bring to mind the brother of ’Ad when he warned his nation in Al-Ahqaf. And surely, the warners have passed away from in between his two hands (i.e., , before him) and from behind his back (i.e., , after him) — (saying) that: “Obey not except Allah; truly, I fear against you the torment of a Mighty Day.” |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And remember the brother of Ad when he warned his folk in the curving sandhills. Warnings passed away before and after him saying: Worship nothing but God. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day |
