﴿يُرۡسَلُ عَلَيۡكُمَا شُوَاظٞ مِّن نَّارٖ وَنُحَاسٞ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ ﴾
[الرَّحمٰن: 35]
﴿يرسل عليكما شواظ من نار ونحاس فلا تنتصران﴾ [الرَّحمٰن: 35]
| Dr Kamal Omar There will be sent against you both, a smokeless flame of fire and heated smoke; then you shall not take aid and assistance and defend one another |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar There will be sent against you both a flame of fire and heated brass. Will you not, then, help yourselves |
| Dr Munir Munshey Blazing (fiery) fireballs, and (flaming molten) brass would be let loose upon you. Escape you shall not |
| Edward Henry Palmer There shall be sent against you a flash or fire, and molten copper, and ye shall not be helped |
| Farook Malik The flames of fire and molten brass will be unleashed on you both, jinn and men, and you will not be able to defend yourselves |
| George Sale A flame of fire without smoke, and a smoke without flame shall be sent down upon you; and ye shall not be able to defend yourselves therefrom |
| Maududi (If you so venture) a flame of fire and smoke shall be lashed at you, which you shall be unable to withstand |
