﴿وَجَعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ مِمَّا ذَرَأَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَرۡثِ وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ نَصِيبٗا فَقَالُواْ هَٰذَا لِلَّهِ بِزَعۡمِهِمۡ وَهَٰذَا لِشُرَكَآئِنَاۖ فَمَا كَانَ لِشُرَكَآئِهِمۡ فَلَا يَصِلُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ فَهُوَ يَصِلُ إِلَىٰ شُرَكَآئِهِمۡۗ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 136]
﴿وجعلوا لله مما ذرأ من الحرث والأنعام نصيبا فقالوا هذا لله بزعمهم﴾ [الأنعَام: 136]
| Dr Kamal Omar And they allotted for Allah, out of that which He brought forth in the form of tilth and cattle, a portion; then they said, out of their concocted beliefs: “(Only) this (portion) goes to Allah and this (i.e., the remaining one) belongs to our partners (whom we think as partners in the dominion and authority of Allah).” Then whatever became for their ‘partners’ so it (never) moves towards Allah; and what became for Allah, so (even) that proceeds towards their ‘partners’. Evil (is the way) they pronounce judgement |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And they assigned to God of what He made numerous of cultivation and flocks a share. Then, they said in their claim: This is for God and this is for our ascribed associates. But what had been ascribed for their associates then, reaches not out to God and what had been ascribed for God then, reaches out to their associates. How evil is the judgment they give |
| Dr Munir Munshey They assign a share for Allah out of the crops and cattle bestowed upon them by Him. They claim, "This (share) is for Allah, and that is for our partners (of Allah)." But seldom does their partners´ share reach Allah. However, Allah´s share frequently ends up with their partners. How despicable are their decisions |
| Edward Henry Palmer They set apart for God, from what He raises of tilth and of cattle, a portion, and they say, 'This is God's;' - as they pretend - ' and this is for our associates;' but that which is for their associates reaches not to God, and that which was for God does reach to their associates;- evil is it what they judge |
| Farook Malik They set aside a share of their produce and of their cattle for Allah, saying: "This is for Allah" - so they pretend - "and this for our shoraka' (their assigned partners of Allah)." Their shoraka's share does not reach Allah, but the share of Allah is wholly given to shoraka'. What an evil decision they make |

And that which is destined for their companions cometh not unto God; yet that which is set apart unto God cometh unto their companions. How ill do they judge |
| Maududi They assign to Allah a portion out of the produce and cattle that He has created, saying out of their fancy: ´This is for Allah´ - so they deem -´and this is for the associates (of Allah) whom we have contrived.´ Then, the portion assigned to the beings whom they have set up as associates (of Allah) does not reach Allah, but the portion assigned to Allah reaches the beings they set up as associates (of Allah)! Indeed evil is what they decide |
