﴿وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذۡ وُقِفُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَقَالُواْ يَٰلَيۡتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلَا نُكَذِّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 27]
﴿ولو ترى إذ وقفوا على النار فقالوا ياليتنا نرد ولا نكذب بآيات﴾ [الأنعَام: 27]
| Dr Kamal Omar And if you saw when they were set over the Fire, then they said: “Would that be for us that we are sent back to the earth and we do not deny the Ayaat of our Nourisher-Sustainer and we become out of the Believers?” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And if thou wouldst see when they would be stationed by the fire, they will say: Would that we be returned to life. Then, we would not deny the signs of our Lord and we would be among the ones who believe |
| Dr Munir Munshey If only you could see them when they are made to stand by the hellfire. They will say, "Oh misery to us, if we could only return (to the life of this world)! This time around we would not deny the signs of our Lord. We would be the believers |

| George Sale And if thou couldst only see when they are made to stand before the Fire! They will say, 'Oh, would that we might be sent back! And then we would not treat the Signs of our Lord as lies and we would be of the believers |
| Maududi If you could but see when they shall be made to stand by the Fire! They will plead: ´Would that we were brought back to life? Then we would not give the lie to the signs of our Lord and would be among the believers.´ |
