﴿وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا صُمّٞ وَبُكۡمٞ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِۗ مَن يَشَإِ ٱللَّهُ يُضۡلِلۡهُ وَمَن يَشَأۡ يَجۡعَلۡهُ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 39]
﴿والذين كذبوا بآياتنا صم وبكم في الظلمات من يشأ الله يضلله ومن﴾ [الأنعَام: 39]
| Dr Kamal Omar And those who have rejected Our Ayaat are deaf and dumb in darknesses. Whom Allah thinks proper He sends him astray and whom He thinks proper He sets him on Permanent Path |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And those who denied Our signs are unwilling to hear and unwilling to speak. They are in the shadows. Whomever God wills, He causes to go astray. And whomever He wills, He lays on a straight path |
| Dr Munir Munshey Those who reject Our revelations (and signs) are like the deaf and the dumb (groping) in the dark. Allah leads astray whom He wants; He shows the right path to whom He wants |

| Maududi Those who gave the lie to Our signs are deaf and dumb and blunder about in darkness. Allah causes whomsoever He wills to stray in error, and sets whomsoever He wills on the straight way.´ |
