﴿وَقَالُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ مَلَكٞۖ وَلَوۡ أَنزَلۡنَا مَلَكٗا لَّقُضِيَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ ثُمَّ لَا يُنظَرُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 8]
﴿وقالوا لولا أنـزل عليه ملك ولو أنـزلنا ملكا لقضي الأمر ثم لا﴾ [الأنعَام: 8]
Dr Kamal Omar And they said: “Why not has been sent down to him an angel?” And if We had sent down an angel, indeed (then) the matter would have been settled — in such a case they would not be given (any) respite |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And they said: Why was an angel not caused to descend to him? And, certainly, if We caused to descend an angel, the command would be decided. Again, no respite would be given to them |
Dr Munir Munshey They asked, "Why was an angel not sent down towards him (the prophet)?" Had We sent angels, the matter would have been decided and done with. Then, they would not be given the loose rein, and a leeway |

Maududi They also say: ´Why has no angel been sent down to this Prophet?´ Had We sent down an angel, the matter would surely have long been decided and no respite would have been granted them |
