﴿وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوۡ قَالَ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ وَلَمۡ يُوحَ إِلَيۡهِ شَيۡءٞ وَمَن قَالَ سَأُنزِلُ مِثۡلَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُۗ وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ فِي غَمَرَٰتِ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ بَاسِطُوٓاْ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ أَخۡرِجُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمُۖ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَكُنتُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 93]
﴿ومن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا أو قال أوحي إلي ولم﴾ [الأنعَام: 93]
Dr Kamal Omar And who is more unjust than that who invented against Allah a false charge or said: “Revelation has been sent to me," although has not been sent to him any thing as Revelation; and who said: “Soon I will (myself) send the like of what Allah has sent.” And if you saw when the transgressors are in the agonies of death and the angels (of death) stretched their hands (saying): “Deliver your Anfus. This Day you shall be recompensed with an insulting punishment because of what you used to utter against Allah other than the truth. And you used to show arrogance with disrespect to His Ayaat |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And who does greater wrong than he who devised lies against God or said: It was revealed to me, when nothing is revealed to him. Or who said: I will cause to descend the like of what God caused to descend. And if thou wouldst see when the ones who are unjust are in the perplexity of death and the angels—the ones who stretch out their hands will say: Relinquish your souls. Today, you will be given recompense with the humiliating punishment for what you had been saying about God other than The Truth. And you had been growing arrogant to His signs |
Dr Munir Munshey Who can be more evil than the one forging lies about Allah, and saying, "I have received revelation" when in fact he had not received a bit of revelation? Or the one who says, "I, too, can inspire and create (a text) similar to what Allah has revealed." If only you could see these wicked people going through the throes of death. The angels would approach them with outstretched hands, "(Time to) deliver your soul! Today you would undergo a most humiliating torture because of the untruthful and unfair things you used to utter about Allah. You used to reject His revelations disdainfully |
Edward Henry Palmer Who is more unjust than he who devises against God a lie, or says, 'I am inspired,' when he was not inspired at all? and who says, 'I will bring down the like of what God has sent down;' but didst thou see when the unjust are in the floods of death, and the angels stretch forth their hands, 'Give ye forth your souls; today shall ye be recompensed with the torment of disgrace, for that ye did say against God what was not true, and were too proud to hear His signs |
Farook Malik Who can be more wicked than the one who invents a lie against Allah, or says: "This was revealed to me," while nothing was revealed to him? Or the one who says: "I can reveal the like of what Allah has revealed?" If you could only see these wrongdoers when they are in the agonies of death and the angels stretch forth their hands saying, "Take out your soul! Today you will be rewarded with a disgraceful punishment for saying falsehood against Allah which you had no right to say and showing arrogance against His revelations |
George Sale And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against God, or says, 'It has been revealed to me,' while nothing has been revealed to him; and who says, 'I will sent down the like of that which God has sent down?' And if thou couldst only see, when the wrongdoers are in the agonies of death, and the angels stretch forth their hands, saying, 'Yield up your souls. This day shall you be awarded the punishment of disgrace because of that which you spoke against God falsely and because you turned away from His Signs with disdain |
Maududi Who can be more unjust than he who places a lie on Allah and who says: ´Revelation has come to me´ when in fact nothing was revealed to him, and who says: ´I will produce the like of what Allah has revealed?´ If you could but see the wrongdoers in the agonies of death, and the angels stretching out their hands (saying): ´Yield up your souls! Today you will be recompensed with the chastisement of humiliation for the lie you spoke concerning Allah, and for you waxing proud against His signs.´ |
