﴿وَقَالَتۡ أُولَىٰهُمۡ لِأُخۡرَىٰهُمۡ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمۡ عَلَيۡنَا مِن فَضۡلٖ فَذُوقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡسِبُونَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 39]
﴿وقالت أولاهم لأخراهم فما كان لكم علينا من فضل فذوقوا العذاب بما﴾ [الأعرَاف: 39]
| Dr Kamal Omar And the earlier of them said to the latter among them: “So there is not for you, over us, out of a grace. So taste the punishment for what you had been earning (through your evil deeds and concepts).” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And the first of them would say to the last of them: You have had no superiority over us so experience the punishment for what you had been earning |
| Dr Munir Munshey Each preceding generation will say to the one following it, "You do not have an advantage over us. Now taste the torment in return for what you have wrought |
