﴿قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبۡلُ فِيٓ أَهۡلِنَا مُشۡفِقِينَ ﴾
[الطُّور: 26]
﴿قالوا إنا كنا قبل في أهلنا مشفقين﴾ [الطُّور: 26]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families |
| Mohammad Shafi They say, "We were living with our families in fear, before |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They will say, “Indeed we were afraid (of Allah’s punishment) when we were amidst our family |
| Muhammad Asad They will say: “Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God’s displeasure] |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali They say, "Surely we were before among our families, (feeling) timorous |
| Muhammad Sarwar saying, "We were afraid while in the world |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani They will say, .Indeed we were afraid (of Allah‘s punishment) when we were amidst our family |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition They will say, “Before ˹this reward˺ we used to be in awe ˹of Allah˺ in the midst of our people |
