﴿فَعَتَوۡاْ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ ﴾
[الذَّاريَات: 44]
﴿فعتوا عن أمر ربهم فأخذتهم الصاعقة وهم ينظرون﴾ [الذَّاريَات: 44]
| Abdel Haleem but they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the blast took them. They looked on helplessly |
| Abdul Hye but they disobeyed the command of their Lord with arrogance; so the awful cry overtook them while they were looking |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on |
| Ahmed Ali But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape |
