﴿قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبۡلُ فِيٓ أَهۡلِنَا مُشۡفِقِينَ ﴾
[الطُّور: 26]
﴿قالوا إنا كنا قبل في أهلنا مشفقين﴾ [الطُّور: 26]
| Abdel Haleem ‘When we were still with our families [on earth] we used to live in fear–– |
| Abdul Hye and they will say: “Surely, we were previously afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah) |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread |
| Ahmed Ali Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home |
| Aisha Bewley They will say, ´Beforehand we used to live in fear among our families |
| A. J. Arberry They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear |
