﴿قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡنَآ أَوَعَظۡتَ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡوَٰعِظِينَ ﴾
[الشعراء: 136]
﴿قالوا سواء علينا أوعظت أم لم تكن من الواعظين﴾ [الشعراء: 136]
| Dr Kamal Omar They said: “It is same to us whether you gave (us) a sermon or be not of those who give sermons |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar They said: It is equal to us whether thou wert to admonish or thou hast not been among the ones who admonish |
| Dr Munir Munshey They said, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or discontinue your sermons altogether |
| Edward Henry Palmer They said, 'It is the same to us if thou admonish or art not of those who do admonish |
| Farook Malik They replied: "It is the same to us whether you preach us or you are not one of the preachers |
| George Sale They answered, it is equal unto us whether thou admonish us, or dost not admonish us |
| Maududi They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not |
