﴿قُلۡ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ تَبۡغُونَهَا عِوَجٗا وَأَنتُمۡ شُهَدَآءُۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[آل عِمران: 99]
﴿قل ياأهل الكتاب لم تصدون عن سبيل الله من آمن تبغونها عوجا﴾ [آل عِمران: 99]
| Dr Kamal Omar Say: “O people of Al-Kitab! Why do you obstruct from the Path of Allah that who has Believed? You desire for it distortion even though you are witnesses. And Allah is not unaware of what you do |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Say: O People of the Book! Why bar you from the way of God he who believed, desiring crookedness when you are witnesses? God is not One Who is Heedless of what you do |
| Dr Munir Munshey Say, "Oh people of the book, why do you drive away those who believe from the path of Allah? Why do you seek to make the path seem crooked, even though you are the witness (that it is the straight path) |
| Edward Henry Palmer Say, 'O people of the Book! why do ye turn from the way of God him who believes, craving to make it crooked, while ye are witnesses? But God is not careless of what ye do |
| Farook Malik Say: "O ye People of the Book! Why obstruct ye those who believe, from the path of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, while ye were yourselves witnesses (to Allah's Covenant)? But Allah is not unmindful of all that ye do |
| George Sale Say, O ye who have received the scriptures, why do ye keep back from the way of God, him who believeth? Ye seek to make it crooked, and yet are witnesses that it is the right: But God will not be unmindful of what ye do |
| Maududi Say: ´People of the Book! Why do you hinder one who believes from the way of Allah, seeking that he follow a crooked way, even though you yourselves are witness to its being the right way?´ Allah is not heedless of what you do |
