Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah FaTir ayat 39 - فَاطِر - Page - Juz 22
Dr Kamal Omar He it is Who made you successors (generations after generations) in the earth. So whosoever disbelieved, on him will be (the bad effect of) his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers will not add (anything) before their Nourisher-Sustainer, except anger. And the disbelief of the disbelievers will not add (any thing) except loss |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He it is Who made you viceregents on the earth. So whoever was ungrateful, then, his ingratitude will be against him. And the ones who are ungrateful increase not their ingratitude to their Lord, but in repugnance. And the ones who are ungrateful increase not their ingratitude to their Lord, but in loss |
Dr Munir Munshey Certainly, it is He Who appointed man as His deputy on earth. Thus the burden of disbelief lies solely and squarely upon those who reject. The rejection of the disbelievers only makes them ever more loathsome according to Allah. The rejection of the unbelievers, therefore, does nothing more than multiply their own loss |
Edward Henry Palmer He it is who made you vicegerents in the earth, and he who misbelieves, his misbelief is against himself; but their misbelief shall only increase the misbelievers in hatred with their Lord; and their misbelief shall only increase the misbelievers in loss |
Farook Malik It is He Who has made you vicegerent on the earth. Whoever disbelieves, bears the burden of his disbelief; and for the disbelievers their disbelief does not increase anything except the wrath of their Lord and the disbelievers do not gain anything except an increase in their loss |
George Sale It is He who hath made you to succeed in the earth. Whoever shall disbelieve, on him be his unbelief: And their unbelief shall only gain the unbelievers greater indignation in the sight of their Lord; and their unbelief shall only increase the perdition of the unbelievers |
Maududi It is He Who made you vicegerents in the earth. So whoever disbelieves will bear the burden of his unbelief. The unbelievers´ unbelief adds nothing but Allah´s wrath against them. The unbelievers´ unbelief adds nothing but their own loss |
