﴿فَذَرۡهُمۡ يَخُوضُواْ وَيَلۡعَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُواْ يَوۡمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ ﴾
[الزُّخرُف: 83]
﴿فذرهم يخوضوا ويلعبوا حتى يلاقوا يومهم الذي يوعدون﴾ [الزُّخرُف: 83]
| Dr Kamal Omar So leave them — they may indulge in useless, unproductive talk, and they may remain involved in sport and play until they meet the Day of theirs, which they have been promised (for Resurrection and Accountability) |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar So let them engage in idle talk and play until they encounter their Day which they are promised |
| Dr Munir Munshey So let them be lost in their nonsense notions, and their play and past times, till they confront their promised day (in the court of Allah) |

| George Sale Wherefore let them wade in their vanity, and divert themselves, until they arrive at their day with which they have been threatened |
| Maududi So leave them alone to indulge in their vanities and to frolic about until they encounter that Day of theirs against which they have been warned |
