﴿قَالُواْ بَلۡ جِئۡنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمۡتَرُونَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 63]
﴿قالوا بل جئناك بما كانوا فيه يمترون﴾ [الحِجر: 63]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed |
| Mohammad Shafi They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they had doubts |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They said, “No, but we have brought to you that (scourge) in which they have been doubting |
| Muhammad Asad They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali They said, "No indeed, we have come to you with that about which they were wrangling |
| Muhammad Sarwar They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani They said, .No, but we have brought to you that (scourge) in which they have been doubting |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition They responded, “We have come to you with that ˹torment˺ which they have doubted |

| N J Dawood No,‘ they said. ‘We bring you news of that concerning which they are in doubt |
| Safi Kaskas They said, "We have come to you with what they have always rejected but wondered whether it will happen to them |
