﴿قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 70]
﴿قالوا أو لم ننهك عن العالمين﴾ [الحِجر: 70]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people |
| Mohammad Shafi They said, "Have we not prohibited you from meddling with other people's matters |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They said, “Had we not forbidden you from (being the guardian of) the whole world?” |
| Muhammad Asad They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali They said, "Have we not forbidden you (to entertain all) men?" (Literally: the worlds) |
| Muhammad Sarwar They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani They said, .Had we not forbidden you from (being the guardian of) the whole world |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition They responded, “Have we not forbidden you from protecting anyone?” |
