﴿لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ ﴾
[الشعراء: 3]
﴿لعلك باخع نفسك ألا يكونوا مؤمنين﴾ [الشعراء: 3]
| Abdel Haleem [Prophet], are you going to worry yourself to death because they will not believe |
| Abdul Hye It may be that you (O Muhammad) are going to kill yourself (with grief) because they don’t become believers |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Belike thou shalt kill thyself with grief because they become not believers |
| Ahmed Ali You may perhaps wear out your heart because they do not come to belief |
| Aisha Bewley Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief because they will not become muminun |
| A. J. Arberry Perchance thou consumest thyself that they are not believers |
