﴿وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا طَٰغِينَ ﴾
[الصَّافَات: 30]
﴿وما كان لنا عليكم من سلطان بل كنتم قوما طاغين﴾ [الصَّافَات: 30]
| Abdel Haleem we had no power over you- and you were already exceeding all limits |
| Abdul Hye We had no authority over you. Nay! You were transgressing people |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant |
| Ahmed Ali We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious |
| Aisha Bewley We had no authority over you. Rather you were unbridled people |
| A. J. Arberry we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people |
| Ali Quli Qarai We had no authority over you. Rather you [yourselves] were a rebellious lot |
