﴿وَدُّواْ لَوۡ تُدۡهِنُ فَيُدۡهِنُونَ ﴾
[القَلَم: 9]
﴿ودوا لو تدهن فيدهنون﴾ [القَلَم: 9]
| Abdel Haleem they want you to compromise with them and then they will compromise with you–– |
| Abdul Hye They wish that you should compromise (in religion with them), so they would also compromise with you |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Their desire is that thou shouldst be pliant: so would they be pliant |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Fain would they that thou shouldst be pliant, so that they will be pliant |
| Ahmed Ali They only want that you should relent, so that they may come to terms |
| Aisha Bewley They wish that you would conciliate them, then they too would be conciliating |
