﴿وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ ﴾
[الفَجر: 16]
﴿وأما إذا ما ابتلاه فقدر عليه رزقه فيقول ربي أهانن﴾ [الفَجر: 16]
Dr Kamal Omar And so, when, whatever He put him to test and trial: so He bestowed over him his provision just according to bare needs — then he will say: 'My Rabb has humiliated (and disgraced) me |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar But whenever He tested him and constricted his provision for him, he says: My Lord despised me |
Dr Munir Munshey And when He tests him by restricting his means of livelihood, he says, "My Lord has disgraced me |
Edward Henry Palmer but whenever he tries him and doles out to him his subsistence, then he says, My Lord despises me |
Farook Malik But when He tries him through restricting his subsistence, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me |
George Sale But when He proveth him by afflictions, and withholdeth his provisions from him, he saith, my Lord despiseth me |
Maududi But when He tests him by straitening his sustenance, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me |
