سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى (1)
Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High |
الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ (2)
Who created and fashioned in due proportion |
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ (3)
and Who determined [the creation] then guided them |
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ (4)
and Who brings forth the pasture |
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ (5)
then makes it into withered chaff |
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰ (6)
We will teach you [the Qur’an], so you will not forget |
إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ (7)
except what Allah wills, for indeed He knows what is manifest and what is hidden |
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ (8)
We will guide you to the easy way |
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ (9)
So remind, if the reminder should benefit |
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ (10)
He who fears Allah will take heed |
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى (11)
but the wretched will avoid it |
الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ (12)
who will enter the Great Fire |
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ (13)
wherein he will neither die nor live |
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ (14)
Indeed, he who purifies himself will attain success |
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ (15)
and remembers his Lord’s Name and prays |
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا (16)
But you prefer the life of this world |
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ (17)
even though the Hereafter is better and more lasting |
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ (18)
Indeed, this was in the earlier Scriptures |
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ (19)
the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses |
