إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ (1)
When the sky breaks apart |
وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ (2)
and when the stars fall, scattered |
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ (3)
and when the seas burst forth |
وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ (4)
and when the graves are overturned |
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ (5)
then each soul will come to know what it has done or what it has left undone |
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ (6)
O mankind, what has lured you away from your Lord, the Most Generous |
الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ (7)
Who created you, then shaped and proportioned you |
فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ (8)
and assembled you in whatever form He willed |
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ (9)
No indeed; but you deny the Judgment Day |
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ (10)
while there are watchers over you |
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ (11)
honorable scribes |
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ (12)
who know whatever you do |
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ (13)
Indeed, the righteous will be in Bliss |
وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ (14)
and the wicked will be in the Blazing Fire |
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ (15)
which they will enter on Judgment Day |
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ (16)
and will never come out of it |
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ (17)
How do you know what Judgment Day is |
ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ (18)
Again, how do you know what Judgment Day is |
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ (19)
It is the Day when no soul will be of any help to another, and all command on that Day will be with Allah |
