وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ (1) Woe to Al-Mutaffifin |
الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ (2) Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure |
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ (3) And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due |
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ (4) Do they not think that they will be resurrected |
لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ (5) On a Great Day |
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (6) The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of all that exists |
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ (7) Nay! Truly, the Record of the wicked is in Sijjin |
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ (8) And what will make you know what Sijjin is |
كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ (9) A Register inscribed |
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ (10) Woe, that Day, to those who deny |
الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ (11) Those who deny the Day of Recompense |
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ (12) And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, the sinner |
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ (13) When Our Ayat are recited to him, he says: "Tales of the ancients |
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ (14) Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering) which they used to earn |
كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ (15) Nay! Surely, they will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day |
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ (16) Then verily, they will indeed enter the burning flame of Hell |
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ (17) Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny |
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ (18) Nay! Verily, the Record of Al-Abrar (the righteous believers) is (preserved) in `Illiyyin |
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ (19) And what will make you know what `Illiyyin is |
كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ (20) A Register inscribed |
يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ (21) To which bear witness those nearest |
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ (22) Verily, Al-Abrar (the righteous believers) will be in Delight |
عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ (23) On thrones, looking |
تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ (24) You will recognize in their faces the brightness of delight |
يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ (25) They will be given to drink of pure sealed Rahiq |
خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ (26) Sealed with musk, and for this let those strive who want to strive |
وَمِزَاجُهُ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ (27) It will be mixed with Tasnim |
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ (28) A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah |
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ (29) Verily, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed |
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ (30) And, whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another |
وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ (31) And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting |
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ (32) And when they saw them, they said: "Verily, these have indeed gone astray |
وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ (33) But they were not sent as watchers over them |
فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ (34) But this Day those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers |
عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ (35) On thrones, looking |
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ (36) Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do |
